That all depends on how you built you SLO. I simply used an angle grinder with a 5mm thick disc to cut slots every 50mm.
I have never had a fish sucked up my SLO even with fingerlings or small fish.
If you just had an open pipe then you would need to do something. |

Looks like ultimate sustainability to me food for u if need be and ultimate supply of algae for fish feed Plus i also think if u had a valve u could limit the flow of water to the ats so it doesnt outcompete your veggies but still produces enough for sufficient growth regardless ... |

Im very familiar with this type setup and how it performs. Drop a whole can of fish food in no problem ... |
