| Is there a need to filter the water through a bio filter? I see people on here run their water through some really elaborate filters to try and clean the water. I came across a filter that claims to keep the water healthy by using bacterias. Let me know ... |

| ... tried several different commercial fish pellets; same result with all. I keep the tank covered and only uncover to feed/observe the fish; they do seem to "run for cover" when I remove the cover and/or they see any movement. |

| I haven't checked out your system before Charlie (a major oversight on my part considering your high standing here) and I'm stoked to see someone using concrete formwork. Should be plenty strong enough for FT and GBs and nicely priced too. Guessing a liner or epoxy sealant would be the go ... |

Yep, your pH drop is consistent with the nitrification cycle....
The difference between the pH in the tank.. and grow bed.... is probably also a reflection (as noted) of that nitrification...
Kind of kewl to actually see it measured... but of absolutely no consequence...  |
