I finally have my system running, after waiting over 3 weeks for marvingarden from ebay to get me my pump, i gave up and bought one locally.

How many times per hour should my growbed fill, my bed is big and with my 500gph pump it took 25 min to fill with the valve almost past 3/4 open.

The siphon wouldnt stop until I closed my pump valve a little, should i cut my breather tube on my siphon shorter? Tube is above my bell siphon teeth about half inch or so. This is a flood n drain system

Also is hydrated agriculture powdered lime good to raise ph, if so how much a day do i put?

Everything else looks good.

Hydrated lime is about the 50grams per kg of fish feed put in.

More details can be found here ..........

I raised my tube just a little, i didnt need to cut i just pulled it up, takes 21 min now to fill my bed.

Weird thing is i tested my water in my rain tank couple weeks ago and was 8.0 with a pool test kit that i returned.

I emptied my tank and cleaned the algae, last night we had big rain, so i filled my pond up with the water. Now i test the water with a aquarium test kit i bought and registers at 5.0, im in hawaii, i wouldnt think are rain is acidy, weird?

That link needs registration, my pond is 160 gallon, what 1 tablespoon lime powder a day?
