Any idea what this could be from? This is on a sweet potato vine. I’ve cut leaves off but it always comes back. Only on the sweet potato leaves so far. I can’t see anything on the back side of the leaves. Kinda feels like jelly or an egg sack when it’s squished.

Thanks!

Could be a few things going on but I think the main possibilities are some sort of pest or just a form of sap from the leaves. Take a magnifying glass and if it moves while you're watching it's probably a pest, like a mite or aphid. I don't think you'll find this to be a pest.

It's probably some sort of sap and from what I can find online, sweet potato vines are high in Oxalate and these are probably the beginning of calcium oxalate crystals, they just haven't dried completely. The cause is probably environmental but apparently no one know exactly what causes this.

If the leaves aren't turning brown or falling off then don't remove the leaves, there's nothing wrong with them. This is probably normal under certain conditions and you can probably rinse it off with water.

You are right, it is that. Very weird. I’ve been battling with this for months and wasn’t able to find a clue with all the searches I did. I was afraid it was some new pest. A month ago spider mites destroyed my cukes and tomatoes. Everything is finally looking good except the sweet potato vine.
