Ill start by a realisation that i have just had that i should have given these guys a salt bath before introducing them into the existing system but anyway......

I have recently been out to feed my SP and noticed that the largest one sitting next to the air stone hardly moving ( and generally these guys freak when i open the top!!) Scooped him up (again way to easy) and examined him, noticed his back tail looking a little worse for wear and what looks like a pretty bad sore at the base of its tail.... Apoligies if the pics dont show it too well but im just wondering whats going on?

P.H is around 7 and not showing and raised signs or ammonia, i did however note that the hose running from the pump to the grow bed was clogged and not enough water was being pumped out into the bed. Very new to all of this and after doing some reading i did have the light bulb moment of " i should have salt bathed these guys" but ive never done that before and wouldnt have a clue where to start!!

Hi mate. Galvanised fish tank?
Lethargy and that the fish is at the air stone sort of points to oxygen.
You can still take the fish out and give them a strong salt bath and/or add some salt to your system.

I'm surprised they are alive at all in a galv. tank. You should really line it or get another tank.
