Hi all,
Wondering if it would be ok to use IBC'S that originally contained fibreglass resin?
My thinking - based on no relevant expertise - is that fish tanks and grow beds can be made from fibreglass, so it must be ok for the water the fish live in to be in contact with the dried resin. Of course I'd still clean the IBC'S thoroughly.
Thoughts? Thanks.

you will have to ensure a good clean, main problem would be fumes or residue leaching into the water. Pressure clean between scrubs with white vinegar and bicarb.

If the resin is ROCK hard then I would say go for it. We have tons of these at work and look like it can work. Just be sure the resin is DRY, most resins will seem set, but with no prior exposure to a drying agent, the resin will remain "wet" for a while, and clean as best you can (acetone) and IF POSSIBLE apply a layer of gel coat paint or similar.
Like ccBear mentioned, problems would be chemical leaching into water. Other than that, your all good.

From what I've heard fibreglass is fine as long as it is fully cured, even it means leaving it out in the sun for a month to do it.
