Been trying to work out the formula for power consumption this is what iv come up with, i know i seen a post about it one day but after a search i couldnt find it.

3000LPH Running on a 15 on 15 off cycle 65w

65w = 0.065 KW/h

and it runs for 30min of every hour

So 0.065 / 2 = 0.032 KW/h

0.032 x 24 = 0.768 Kw per day x 365 = 280 * 22c = $61 Per year.

Now these are obviously guideline measurements as it doesnt take into account for Peak/off peak etc. but can anyone see an issue with it?? or have i got it worked out??

I haven't done any long extended testing of this but the kick start does pull more amps, so the fact that it's on a frequent on/off cycle could vary the results. The only way to know for sure is to get a kill-a-watt. Currently $16 USD.

I have just set up my system and am using an Arlec power meter to monitor energy usage. The meter simply plugs into the wall and records what runs through it. Picked it up at the "big green shed" for ~$20.
