Can people with fish allergies eat the vegetables produce?

Humm... a good question Rob & Ruth (welcome)... I would tend to say, yep....

Based on the assumption that any allergy was provoked by some "component/compound" within the actually fish flesh.... which would be unlikely to be past through/taken up by the plants.... but I couldn't be definitive about it...

I agree with Rob - I do not know for sure but I don't see why not. The fish are just providing ammonia and other waste into the system. But if fish are a real concern as they might still have to be handled, you might want to look at hydroponics which is doing the same thing without fish.

Yes, there is no way that the allergen (usually a protien) could end up in a vegetable unless it has been genetically modified. The vegies use nitrates and other trace elements as the building blocks to generate the larger molecules required for growth. Only these large molecules that they have built themselves are in the vegetable and these are only those that the plant has the plans for (genetic code) therefore they are made up of exactly the same stuff are vegies grown in dirt.

An allergen from the fish may end up on the out side of the vegetable from direct contact only, so just wash before eating.
