A question. Why, when ppl have 3 4 dwb sitting next to each other, ppl dont connect the beds so water can flow between the beds? It would help prevent dead areas.

If you set them up right and you're aerating then the water is being mixed and you shouldn't have dead areas. Other than that it would add extra cost.

I think also that maintenance might have more to do with this than water movement. At some point you're going to need to clean the DWC.

Thankyou. I have air pumps in and the tanks are connected.. hope to add 35 tilapia saturday 5 may.
The fish are about an hour drive away so am preparing 200l barrel with air pump attached to converter and car battery.
The fish will be put in salt bath 4ppt for half hour, then introduced to their new home at less than 1ppt salt
