A few projects here are to raise perch, pike perch (zander) or some sort of catfish and trout. Problem is that they grow very slowly (except for trout) and need at the least one year to grow at eating size.
The world's biggest aquaculture recirc system is in Belgium and they produce 3000 tons of tilapia a year.
I hope you'll have good results with bluegill.

Nightmare for Vitafish in Belgium unfortunately:

Vitafish has been taken over by Joosen-Luycks, a feed manufacturer who runs a succesful sturgeon farm (AquaBio http://www.aquabio.be/) and caviar business (Royal Belgian Caviar http://www.royalbelgiancaviar.be/eng/).

So chances are that this will be the end of the Tilapia adventure in Belgium.

Yep, Vitafish went bankrupt in August... with about 500+ tonne of Tilapia swimming around in the ponds...

Another European here and preparing to start.
I'm in France, but just not ready to start building. I'm still trying to get through the vast amount of knowledge currently posted here (thanks a million by the way to all for sharing this).

Cheers.

Starting here in Slovenia, gathering info, plans, ideas, links... budgeting and designing a system that would sustain 24/7/356 operation.

Hey Von Papst - I wrote you a PM.
I too am very interested in comparing prices because going to Slovenia to buyt stuff for me would take like ten minutes... So if the prices were lower it would be a definite WIN (plus a gasoline top-up hehe)

Also starting in France soon. There's a pretty big variation in terms of climate across the country but it would be useful for any heads up on legislation issues that you might have encountered. I'll try to share anything I uncover here as my French improves.
