Nice. Strong, gamey taste that doesn't remind me of anything else I've ever had and I've eaten plenty of different animals.

I'm thinking of joining PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals

+1 to chilli

I have taken a liking to goat lately. Very similar to lamb with a bit more flavour. Also comes with a pet food stamp

Are you human?: yes, at times
Location: South Africa, Durban
Hi all

New to this forum and very new to forums in general.

I'm in Durban and have been aquaponic-ing for about 12months. Very encouraging to read all the stuff that people are doing.

Not sure of any others in Durbs doing this stuff, but as mentioned, hasn't taken off in SA as it has in Oz

Hi Mr Oak..

I am in Cape Town..
Durban would be an excellent spot for Tilapia. I assume that is what you are keeping?
Maybe post some pictures of your setup?

Are you human?: I Pretend to be
Location: South Africa, Johannesburg
Hi,

I am thinking of doing a system. I have a 30 000 litre Fish pond that I would like to plum into some beds.

I Will start a thread on location to source some ideas.

O yes, I am in Johannesburg.

Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

Just a note that we're in Johannesburg. We've built a system and will be posting photos in the coming days. Progress is slow, and I think we've ironed out most of our issues so far.

Are you human?: I'M A SHAAARK!!
Location: Pretoria, South Africa
Hello!

I'm in Pretoria, South Africa. Been running a Barrelponics setup for about 3 months. Got 20 tilapia and 5 goldfish. Plantwise, I have transplanted seedlings of the following kinds: mint (going wild), stevia, jalapenos (rather sickly), parsely, and thyme. I've tried introducing various freshly germinated sprouts, but so far only oreganum seems to be performing.

I'm keen to learn more about aquaponics and network with other South Africans. I also have a few ideas for aquaponics and related projects I'd like to kick about here. Once I've solved all issues with my current setup, I will expand it by at least one IBC system.

Dagsê!

I'm from Potchefstroom and I have a 3 x 210l barrel system busy cycling. Have had the usual, "Is jy nou mal boet?" Looks when explaining to people here what I'm doing.

I have a system thread in the Systems area if you want to see what I've done.
