In Qld, Animal Ethics covers Vertibrates, not Invertibrates..

I still wouldnt eat them in a school system just due to the issues like food poisoning etc. But Our new SOSE hod soon, buys more redclaw then he needs that takes the ones they dont need and teaches the kids how to cook them...

Not a bad idea...

butter and garlic yummy!

just give 'em some shit about release into a dam, get permissiuon from some farmer in writing and there you go ;)

Either that or ice water slurry, i think thats a recognised acceptable kill method.

Probably don't mention the sausage mincer to re-cycle them into fish food ;)

pretty sure that once they are dead they are no longer covered by any ethics requirements. Image

I wonder if anyone on the ethics comittees ever go fishing? Or do they consider cooking up a feed of fresh prawn or Lobster on a holiday beach as being unethical?

I am not sure but are the home economics (Cookery) teachers bound by the same rules?

And while I am ranting, why is it, that these days, "classes" are called "learning areas".

What a load of BS!

These people get paid for making teaching next to impossible!

Maybe these faceless cowards, who couldn't make it in the classroom are secretly working on a "be kind to educational beuraucrats" category for inclusion into the ethics documents. IMHO their cateory would fit somewhere below invertebrates (they are spineless) and may probably sit somewhere alongside noxious bacteria and slime moulds perhaps.

Hee Hee ..

I am pain free ...

If you try to ignore the ignoramuses .. (plead ignorance if required) , try to mentally remove yourself from their influence ... and hopefully get away with it ...

several things begin to happen ..

.. you enjoy your vocation more and get results!

Less stiffled by crap!

So I have no pain ... AND ... I am priveliged to teach my students the best I can.

I finally got enough savvy to choose to ignore as much bulldust as I can possibly get away with!

As a consequence , I have very little pain! But a lot of disrespect for administrators at government and district level.

Those who teach .. can! For sure! Hats off to them!

Those who can't, get into political / paper pushing jobs and destroy the careers and vocations of those who can do the job, thereby damaging the future of our kids and our country.

Me, I just enjoy teaching, given half a chance!

Personally, I think if they got more responses from working teachers that were appropriate to the paperwork they are wanting you to fill out, the less of it they would come up with. Now my suggestion is the next time you are given some sort of "politically correct pile of steaming male bovine defecation" to complete, take it immediately to your private office for due consideration and completion. I believe most of you refer to it as "the loo". (I wonder what they would make of the long brown exclamation point on mine!)

ROFL, Well procrastination is an effective Time Management tool! Perhaps you can just Utilize effective time management on all the BS paper work?

Now my input for AP in a school. Do they also have Home Ec in class? Ie cooking clases.
Perfect supply from the ap class, supply the Home ec class with fish etc gets past the what to do with the stuff when it's done. WE eat it!
