Are you human?: The top half is

It's a tough one to explain.
Thai people (especially rural) find it very hard to accept that there could be more than one way to do something.
I have been told many times that you cannot keep Tilapia in an above ground tank, they have to be raised in an in-ground pond.
When you ask why, the answer is "you just can't"

The filtration part of AP is fairly easy to explain "grawng chee waa pap" or กรองชีวภาพ.
That means literally "biological filter" - your BiL should understand at least that bit.

Good luck trying to explain it, I've all but given up, they are very set in their ways.
Part of the charm I guess :)

Hi Dui - photo problem again. I took some photos today to upload, but have forgotten how I resized them before. I remember how to upload them to the thread, but I need to resize first. My old computer is dead. I am using my wife's lap top and I can't seem to find anything here to resize with. Do I need to download some type of software? John

IrfanView is free and will let you batch resize images.

Hi LowCarrb, thank you for the link. I downloaded the program. When I open it I get a black screen with items across the top to select from. Problem is is that I don't understand all of that stuff. I am lost. I am not too great with computers. John

LowCarb - Thank you. I think I have figured it out. If you see photos soon, I did. John

Sorry no photos coming. I can click on image and then resize on the form to 800 X 600 and then OK. But when I go back to get the photo to upload it it is back to original size. I give up. More to do in life than playing with a stupid computer. John

Once you resize, you have to go to File -> "Save (original folder)" to save the changes. (You can also save it with a new filename so you don't lose your high resolution originals.)

I have done the save(original file) thing. But when I go back to the photo folder and put the cursor over the photo, the photo iformation that comes up is the old photo size. I changed the names and the name changes took - I did not have to save. I'm still lost. I must be pushing /or not pushing the wrong/right buttons somewhere/somehow.

OK... Windows XP had a "resizing tool" as part of the "power pack"... but it didn't work with Vista or Win 7... and/or was discontinued....

This third party group re-released it.... should work with XP no problems...

http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/releases/view/30247

The XP version defaulted to a 800x600 size... but this version you'll need to set it in the "custom" field...

One of the advatages of this tool... is it leaves the original photo file... and creates the resized photo in the same folder... with the same file name... and a "custom" designation...

Simple as .... and you can resize a batch of files by selecting via normal file selection methods...

Will handle almost any file format... and camera format...

Quote:
By default, image files with the following extentions can be resized: bmp, dib, gif, ico, jpe, jpeg, jpg, png, tif, tiff, wdp. However, Image Resizer will also be able to use any Windows Imaging Codecs (WIC) that have been installed. For example, after installing the Microsoft Camera Codec Pack, vendor-specific formats from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Pentax, Leica, Minolta, Epson, and Panasonic can also be resized.
