I think it's because you're linking to Photobucket which is not limiting to 800x600?

If God forbid photobucket goes away or the links get re-directed then all of Ryan's pictures will be missing from the forum threads - poof!

All right, now I know.

I got all the stuff I need in order to get the system going. I just have to finish the grew beds.

Are there any plans to open up the roof and let more light in? It looks like you have a skylight, but the rest looks like its closed in...

No plans to open the roof.
I have two grew lights per bed. LED blue and red, model PPA38. 7 watts per light. So, for all 12 lights, the consumption will be 96 watts.
According to what I have read, the red and blue LED lights are good.

Grew Beds 1 and 4 is fully functioning, but I had a issue with the number 2.
Water won, so I have to come up with a fix around the syphone pipe. Meanwhile, I sure enjoyed the azaleas.

Carried 24 times 5 gallon bucket full of river rocks. Almost half of one GB got filled. Tested the syphone. The pipe with the cap spins and shakes during the drain time. Do I have to glue the bottom?

Do you have a rock guard to go around the bell?

if so you can cut a piece of 1/4" pvc and wedge it inside the rock guard to
put a little pressure on the bell...

Mine dance if I dont have this support...

look at the bottom left of this pic and you can see the hold down...

its just friction by being a tight fit inside the rock guard

I got about 6 notches in the bottom already. It sure sucks all the water out. I think there is only 1/4 inch water left on the bottom after draining was complete.

Dave, I think I will glue few rocks on the top of the cap from to hold it down good.
Good advice, thanks.

I got the next two day off, so, I am going to try to catch few dozens of minnows from my pond and put them in the fish tank to start the system.

By the way, after two months I got a response from NC-DNR. I do need to get authorization in order to have Tilapia in North Carolina. So, I filled out the two page form and sent it in yesterday. Hope I get a response soon. As soon as I get their authorization, then I will place my order for White Brook Strain White Nile Tilapia fingerlings.

Good trick JT. Yes, I do have 6 rock gaurds, one for each grew bed. I think I just put something with a bit of weight right on the top. No gluing should be needed, the rock gaurd will hold it in place.
Thanks.

Fixed the leaking issues aroud the syphone, and tested all 6 grew beds. All worked fine wthout and issues.
Carries 48 5 gallons of river rock yesterday and filled up grew bed 1.
Also made a floatng minnow trap from a criket box and caught total of 40 good size minnows. They are all in the fish tank now.
Today, I had two helpers, they were filling the buckets and I was hauling them via a heavy duty cart all the way down to the AP place. So far GB 1 and 2 are filled with river rocks. Cleaning the red clay off of the river rocks was a tough job, but it had to get done. Had to go on the teater hang ups for about 4 minutes in order to ease the back pain a little. Oh boy, that sure works like a magic.
Well, till later, I wish you all the best and Happy Good Friday.
