here is one of the tanks i found in my yard. it is an old well tank. after i cut the bottom off it will be 3.5 feet in dia. and 4 feet tall and hold 300 gallons. i like it, the top, which will be the bottom is dome shaped with an outlet in the middle. it is 3/4 inch, but i may weld a 1" fitting in. this should keep solids off the bottom if i take water from the bottom.

and here are two tanks i have laying around i might find a use for. 80 gallon and 100 gallon

I see great potential with that tank. I wish I knew how to weld. It is one of the most valuable skills to have. Will the greenhouse frame be used to house the tank or the grow beds?

Oh and great job spotting the conical/dome bottom on the tank as useful for solids removal and drain. I second the nomination for rearing tank duty..

it was a pump house, pushed down with a front loader. the tank was dumped on top and has been sitting for a while, all ways thought i might need it.

looks like you've got two outlets along the sides of the tank already meancoyote....

Ever thought of splitting the tank in two along the horizontal axis....

Then you'd have two tanks  :D

Guess that wont work though if the other end is open????

im going to cut the part with the outlets off, its all rusted anyway. i found some paint at home depot to paint it with, it says it is for ponds, can be used on metal and is fish safe. only comes in black or light blue. ill prolly get the blue.
