The lats I used for 'sandwiching' are some sort of hardwood I got at the local hardware store.

Finished doing those lats a couple of hours ago..

We just put the bottom of the GB in, followed by the ceremonial first-drops-of-water.

It's just water, I swear!

Filling the pond with water will take a couple of hours, and it's getting dark now so we'll do that tomorrow. We've decided that we'll try to get the minor folds in the back of the pond (see pics in previous posts) out first, though. When the thing's about halfway filled with water, we'll cut off the excess liner, and I hope to line the GB with 0.5mm PVC tomorrow as well (although I might borrow a staple gun from someone and just do it later).

Excellent work and it all fits well in the total landscaping.
Your missing a brass commisioning plaque on the grow bed.
Have I missed the type of fish your going to have?

It's stainless steel (brass is more yellow-ish), and it's not missing; the two halves of the frame are screwed tightly to the wall where the third one would be, so it's just not necessary (besides, it'll be lined and filled with hydroton, so you won't see it anyway).

As there are few cold water fish that are edible (well, 99% of all fish are edible, but not all taste well), omnivorous, easy to grow and available in the Netherlands, I think I'll just get a bunch of golden and silver orfe, goldfish (also shubunkins) and a single sunfish, and possibly golden tench. We don't really like eating fish all that much, anyways.

I think what GF meant by Brass Commissioning plate, is a little Plaque, signifying the creation of the art form. Like the date and your name etc. I think you need one because it is so impressive.....

EDIT: I only just noticed the SS plate missing.... what you can't see won't hurt...

Thats really well done, Tom. Congratulations.

I've picked a flaw though!

It will be far to easy for your neighbour to sneak his hand through that bush and steal your lovely veggies ;)

Think the neighbour's too old for that, Steve.. :P

TimC&GotFish, thanks, now I see what you mean. Don't really like plates, might do a chainmaille inlay

Anyways, thanks a bunch guys!

It rained heavily this morning (despite forecasts predicting the warmest day since weeks), but of course by the time I'd finished diverting the drainage from the roof of the house into the pond the rain'd stopped.. And of course I was soaking wet, by then. :|

Well, it wouldn't budge.. Not surprising, since it'll have to hold at least 10 times my weight :P
