Hi Ben yes decided to use blue barrels for sumps I have decided to use four sumps bit of overkill but might be more stable temp wise I think it will get pretty hot in hot house will put some duckweed in one and experiment with some yabbies and yes Ben meal worms a multiplying now I don't see any of hem turning into beetles yet

not using pea gravel any more went to Cheidys aquaponics on Saturday And picked up some hydroton it was on special for $30 bucks a bag

Can you give us more info on what looks like plastic welding? :?:
How those yellow strips appear to be bonded to the bit of bucket with the grid sandwiched in between :think:

It looks really awesome and very neat.

Did a bit of youtubing on the plastic welding thing. Not a good thing for a tool junky
I've been using a soldering iron for years for small repairs cannibal style.
Will have to see if I can source some equipment locally

finally connected four sumps up tried the slit method and mould method both worked well was hard to connect all together especially the last two
