Here is a quick little video that shows my system. Any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am new to aquaponics. My system has been running for a little over 4 weeks now.

All seems straight forward..
I worry about noise levels and I would be extending the syphon returns to under the water to reduce noise.. :support:

After four weeks, the water is very turbid, and I wonder if it will ever be visually rewarding..

Your SLO goes straight to the GB, and I have seen too many clogged up beds to accept that no filtering is a good idea..

IMHO

welcome to the rewarding hobby, and we all would likely wish to see the system develop..

Thanks for your input, the water is clearing up a little more everyday. I have been adding maxicrop+iron to give the plants nutrients because I didnt have the bioload to sustain the plants nutritional needs, thats why the water looked so turbid. As of now the water is almost completely clear. As far as the slo picking up the fish waste and clogging the growbeds, I really dont know how big of an issue that will be. The solid waste collects in the corners of the fish tank and I have been siphoning it out weekly to use around my apricot tree. I dont let it build up too much. From what I have seen, the overflows really dont create enough suction to pull solids off the bottom. I moved some waste really close to the pipe and it stayed there, it didnt get sucked up. I also put some filter socks on the overflows where they drain into the growbeds and after 2 days I didnt have any solids in the filters. So I am hoping it wont be too big of an issue, but only time will tell.
