I did some more work on the shade structure and filled in three grow beds with clay balls (no plumbing yet apart from the drain fitting and media guard), at least one other will have rocks in it. The last one I am not sure about at the moment, either dwc or rocks.

Nice and neat, and a really good use of space. I love the rock embankment behind, should help trap suns warmth and protect plants. Where did you get the grow beds from, they are a great size?

Yes, I hope so too. Actually that was a factor for the decision to buy this house. I just have to watch the water quality carefully as the air intake for the air condition is right next to the AP, so if there is a mass fish death, I'll now right away.

I had the troughs in my previous system, 8 of them, they are really practical, another manufacturer had some with lots of pockets the bottom, creating no flow zones.

Couple more pictures from the plumbing work last weekend.

I'll be filling it with water the coming weekend, got a few more fittings to glue in...

Thank you

I filled the tanks yesterday, the system holds 4300 litre of water with 3 of the 5 grow beds flowing.

Did the initial water test today and will start fishless cycling soon. Good to hear the sound of splashing water in the backyard again...

So, the first version of the shade structure is finished. And there is also note a platform to access the tank, the step is only a temporary solution and as we all now temporary solutions last the longest.

The PeePonics cycling is already showing some ammonia and I bought a couple of herbs today to have something growing in it. I also ordered a $100 of various seeds with greenharvest but that won't be before February (when the temperature go to a more normal hot and not 45 degrees c) before they get planted.

:D the first house i built i had a used pallet front stair case for six years. Replaced with the more permanent solution only a few months prior to selling.

Looking great, shade structure is neatly designed. :thumbright:

That's gold.

I am already thinking whether I should cover the front the structure in the picture with cloth as well.
