No, they're all plumbed in together. We'll wait and see whether this works (the amount of water etc). They should all be flood and drain. We haven't played with the float on the pump yet (haven't even started it up yet).

When the sump is levelled I'll be able to run water through the system properly.

I'm thinking with the towers I should be able to have really slow flow into the coco peat ones, because it has such good water retention properties. The towers will flow straight out into the blue drums below them.

here's this afternoon's jobs. Only got five of the drums drains put in. The end caps on the towers are siliconed and screwed on to the pipes.
Two scoops of gravel fills five half drums. (2/3 m3)

Hi Jaymie,

Your set up is coming along nicely - you're certainly going to eating a lot of fish when the whole thing's up and running.

Depending on what you're growing in the coco - peat, you may find that continuous flow is going to leave you a bit damp....but a timer and a small pump......or a timer and a solenoid valve.....will enable you to water all of your coco peat systems in a very controlled manner.

Gary

Way to go J, congrats on joining THE :sith: CLUB , see you got stuck in the nervous 990's for awhile but patience and timing prevailed.

Love the way your system is coming together - might have to put concrete blocks on the aqauponians stock list as well

Great looking system there Jaymie - I am impressed!

Comming to think about it, I wont let you see my system next time you are in town ;) as mine is one continious experiment, not nearly as neat and well laid out as yours - keep up the good work, you make us proude!
