Paddling pools - or not

Whilst walking to work the other day I noticed some blow up pools for sale and thought :think:

hmm, could these be used for FT? Or will the plastic kill the fish?

Then I wondered about them as GB, with a bamboo basket containing the medium to protect the plastic (there's a lot of bamboo in china)

Would reduce the cost of the "hardware" (and give my lungs a workout!!)

Including joking, is there any mileage in this idea?

I would not use the ones with the blow up ring, I have on that I am using for a fish tank, and the fish are doing fine. Mine has the metal frame, I don't trust the ones with the blow up ring.

I have read that some a coated with an anti algae substance, might want to stay away from those..

They are about this sort of size - minus the mermaid!

Oh, that is way smaller than I was thinking. The one I bought is a small one and it is 1100 gallons/4000lters. I would not use that, but not because of harm to the fish, they just won't last. I doubt you get a few months out of it.

That picture is quite old. Sevylor has been out of business for some time. They made a tow tube that flew called the Mantaray. Someone broke their neck, there went the company. Apparently you can't put enough warnings on a box.
