Then again I could just make a camp fire still.

I pulled my first produce from my new constant flood bed last night.

Lettuce is growing well, spinach (or is that silver beet) is going absolutely nuts, celery is going well (left over base from some store bought stuff, and a zillion baby carrot sprouts have just come up.

Interestingly a rock melon or cucumber (not sure which) that wouldn't grow in a NFT tube (I was just starting them in the tubes for transplant), is also growing well.

And basil is also doing well.

The solar panel is still covered with the transport blanket.

I have no idea what to do with it, how to test it, what will happen if I cross the wires, why there are two sets of wires, how to get all the glass out of my feet after interacting with it,
i cant help you with the glass in your feet...... but i can help you with testing it...... i assume you have a multimeter? digital one? set it for DC volts........ and randomly hook up wires to it...... it will either show a negative or a positive volts....... or it is stuffed and it will show nothing (0 volts). you cant hurt either the panel or the multimeter doing this.

im really keen to see if it actually works still, if it does im going to try and hunt up a broken one for my own playing :D

To answer someone's question about the transition between IBC and PVC (cant remember who's - it may have even been in the real world)

Just by buying one of these PVC fittings...

It has a male threaded end at the hex nut end that goes into the IBC tap, and the other end takes 50mm (I think) PVC pressure pipe that you slide in and glue.

Cool. Been looking (not very hard) for one of those SP60 fittings. Didn't know what to call it. Have an IBC with no cut-off valve but it still has the threads on the outside part. Learn all kinds of stuff on this forum.
Now to find one in the US.

Yeah that white thing is what I used.

My 50mm faucet/socket fitting just screws into my IBC's tap.

What's the black thing for?

Uh, just FYI, not all IBC's have the same fittings. I have one that I can simply use a 2" Female NPT adapter to hook up, but the next one the threads are different.
