I only plucked a few of the lower leaves off as they were all over my lettuces. Brocolli head on one plant is ready for picking and picked a few peas the other night.
Strawberries are doing nothing in the NFT tube, and one even went yellow and died. Replaced it with a lettuce to see how it goes, and try to figure out if the tube is the problem, or if its just the wrong time of year for strawberries.

Brocolli has come on well in the last couple of weeks. Just picked the first head to go with dinner tonight.

Thats celery that has gone off in there :D
The brocolli is chinese sprouting so it only gets small flowerets that are edible. I think after planting these few that you would need a mass planting of them to get a feed off :)

Yeah, I tried the Chinese Sprouting Broccoli this year.... have to say I'm dissapointed...

The normal heading variety gives much more yield for the footprint...

Got some purple sprouting brocolli seedlings which I reckon I'll put in very thickly planted in the new system. Must have about 50 seedlings by the looks. Hope they are better than the chinese stuff

We have warmer weather on the way so decided to net some fish and see if any were big enough for dinner. Got 5 in the net and decided these two would do. One is 300g even and the other 255g

Still having trouble keeping ammonia down in the tank so culled two more fish. Smoked the larger one and will try the smaller one fryed tommorow night. Havent tried fryed trout yet, only ever had smoked and done in foil in the barby/oven.

This really is turning out to be my SMALL trout system eh. But its a small tank and heats up quickly so I need to get them out soon. I netted one today that doesnt look like it has grown at all. He might go into the aquarium in the house and become a pet.
