Well the smoking didnt turn out very well, as the flesh is still white and its dry so I did it too hot or too long :dontknow: It still tastes good and will have it with a salad at work tommorow.
The smaller one I floured and fried in garlic butter for 4mins per side on medium heat and it was perfect, yummo. This has become my favourite way to cook them
Will have to look into getting a better smoker :)

Two more trout for dinner last night. Down to 10 now and hoping to get some more size on them if the weather stays mild enough. Fish tank hit 22C yesterday but its cooled today

Took out two more and smoked them yesterday and just had them for lunch, yummo
Looks like Thursday is going to be cull day as from thurs on we are expecting 27,31,33,27
I reckon there is at least one that hasnt grown much at all so he might go in the sump of the big system that might get through the warm spell.

Day and night temps up now and tank was sitting on 24.5 this evening and the little jades are feeding eagerly. I kept throwing in crumbled barra pellets and they kept coming. Also chucked a small hand full of duckweed in there.
I wonder how big I can get these jades before it gets cold. Time will tell eh :)

Mate, I hear ya with the aquarium'ing of the young'ens.

Allows for bonding time and fosters strong relationships for the future. I did that with my barra over winter. Albeit exxy with heating. I miss the lil battlers now they are in general population! I'm thinking of Aquarium'ing some black bream now and some small marron - just to fill the void!
