Yay, I have a thread name change :D
Opened up the louvers of the greenhouse today as the tank temp hit 26. Plants are still powering on even with only 15 little jades

Pulled the spring onions you can see in the pics above and they are now bubbling away as a potato and leek type soup.
Just managing to keep this system above 20C but the jades are feeding and growing well. Cant beleive how much duckweed they can go through, as well as the crumbled pellets I give them.

Decided that this system needs more filtration so I got a 220L black tub from the hw store. Plumbing shop not open today so tommorow I will plumb it in and fill with scoria and pebbles. Will make this bed constant flood so as not to effect the fish tank level

Update on the greenhouse system.

Who said trout were the most fun to watch, these Jades are just as much fun to watch feed as the trout. They were tiny 40-50mm fingerlings when I got them exactly 3 months ago

And experimenting with growing sprouts , these are alfalfa sprouts I think and they are a success.

Hey what temps do they stay alive down to? They're supposed to be a warm water fish...

What temps do they stop eating at?

I've literaly seen 1kg+ Jade Perch swimming a round in a 2000L tank... outside in a paddock up around Gosford... in the middle of winter... and the water was cold to touch...

Yeah I have read that before from you Rupe, so all sounds good for my small tank in a greenhouse with a 300w heater. Might have some monsters this time next year. :dontknow:
