Well I got these about this time last year as wee fingerlings and overwintered them in the aquarium in the shed. Then they went into the greenhouse system
Basically they need warm water, and I am in Vic so they need to be heated over winter
If I lived in north QLD they and barra would be the only fish for me

Pulled two more tonight and the big one went 430g. They grow very quickly this time of year. Fileted one to have with some yabbies and cleaned ,scaled and in brine is the other to try in the smoker tomorrow
10 to go, then the cod can go in this system

Good friday fish harvest. 8 killed and 3 smaller ones into the big system so this greenhouse system is empty now, awaiting the murray cod. Will leave it a few days as ammonia is 1, probably from the stressed fish as I netted them. They didnt like being netted for some reason :D

Decided today was the day to transfer the Murray Cod from the aquarium to this system. They were very easy to net. From the 30 I started with I have ended up with 10 with the largest 9 going into the AP and the smallest one can stay in the aquarium
Hoping 9 cod will be enough to power this system, and if not I may get some cats out of the big system to add in
They sure have grown from the tiny almost fry that I got back in November

Apologies for not reading back through the thread, but was the 2/3rds loss of Murray cod due to illness deaths or cannibalism?

Mainly due to getting fry/fingerlings that were tiny and I wasnt prepared for them , thinking that we were getting yearlings. So most died in the first week due to having to put them in an aquarium that wasnt setup properly. Canabolism got the rest

This system now has hopefully still the nine Cod and a couple of months ago I got two of the Jades out of the big tank where they were struggling and one catfish and one of the smaller silvers.
It has two tomato plants that came up from seed a few months ago with this Aunt Ginny plant producing well
