The good thing about science is that you don't have to believe in it for it to be right.

Are you human?: Nope! I'm a machine.
Location: Ellenbrook, WA - soon to be Dowerin, WA!
Just popped up the road and used my cousins test kit as I only have a salt water test kit.

The kit is old (18 months) but hopefully is testing accurately.

pH looks to be 8
Ammonia 0.5
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0

Besides patience does is there anything I could do?

Water is pumping 24x7 and the growbeds are currently set to be constant flood. Approximately 2100 liters of air is being delivered per hour.

I have only feed lightly once (Saturday) and will hold off before feeding again.

I should read my post thoroughly before hitting submit. Posting via an iPhone doesn't help.

Tank temp is 24 at the top. Need to figure out how to test the water temp at the bottom - bit hard with a floating thermometer.

Go to B...they have the cheap indoor/outdoor thermometers, weight the outdoor lead and chuck it in the tank :D

Unless your tank is over 2 mtrs deep... don't worry about measuring the temp...

I'm sure there's a reason for that......but here goes, why not?

Because any difference in temperature is going to be minimal... if measureable....

The only reason why our tank is half-buried is because otherwise the grow bed would be too high (because it has to be above the FT). I understand that in general, the FT temperature is more dependent on the temperature of the media in the grow bed, unless pumping is limited when the grow bed is too hot or cold.
