I've still got about 4 or 5 of my 2014 trout, this will be their second summer. Water temps haven't gotten any higher than 25°C so far, that was yesterday when the ambient temps got to 42-43°C. It's settled back down to a touch over 24°C today.

Fingers crossed it doesn't get any hotter. Last year water temps maxed out at 24.6°C over the 40°C+ heat wave. Hopefully with the cool change that is coming soon everything stays stable, aside from the fish it's such daunting, scary fire weather.

Mine didn't survive.

I thought my water quantity would keep them going, but it was a bit too hot.

Goldies are loving it though.

Hi Food&Fish

I still have all my Silvers

I keep the freezer stocked with 2 litre icecream containers of ice for my worms

I added four each day to the fish tank and kept the temperature under 25c

Plus sarlon mesh over the grow beds to shade plants and pebbles

This may be the way to go for your trout

It got to around the same temperature. But I don't have any extra air going into it.

I could see them struggling, acting weirdly. It wasn't a surprise or anything.
