Hi L,
Be careful. Redfin in Victoria and southern Murray/Darling river system are carriers of a virus dangerous to other native fish. EHNV virus destroys the blood producing organs and kidneys of silver perch and galaxias. It spreads via contact and may be waterborne too.
I would like to add a few redfin to my system from my local lake as an experiment, but I am too frightened to try as it could wipe out my silvers.
I think I'll stick with wild caught reddies and keep my silvers safe.

I don't think golden perch are as susceptible to the disease.
