Rick wrote: Nocky wrote: wazza to be fair they should come from your system, Ah...now make the rules. How long do they have to be in the system for?? Catch them from the dam, put them into the AP, then a week later photograph and eat!! That's where they came from in the first place, have only been in the FT since New year. The Barra have started having a crack at them I have noticed. So do blue ones taste better?

And it can't be the cold, we have had 3 days in a row over 42 degrees.
I just fed the Barra, and the Yabbies come out of their 'homes' to grab the fish food, and I noticed a couple of the bigger one's are starting to go blue. I guess this means I have clean water???
These guys came out of a muddy but fresh water permanent lake on my parents farm, and they are a dark brown when you catch them, definitely no blue on them. They entered my FT around 3rd Jan, so not that long ago really.
Cheers Wazza

Question for the Yanks:
How big are these things when you catch them in the wild, and does anyone know how they compare to crawdads? (Also called crayfish.)

A Beer Can is approx. 127mm long, the same as a Blue Manna's Minimum Size Limit! Coincidence? I dont think so.....

Nice blue one's Rupe I've recently found a couple of young blue ones and will separate them for breeding There is something nice about the colour and I think it would entice those who are a little reluctant to eat yabbies Good to see Yabbies come out of the wood work!!! More pics everyone
