I like it .
Perhaps over time , as more data is collected from APer's we could add age ,, e.g 3 months 12 cm 25 grammes. This coukld be referenced to get who / or whom is getting their fish growing faster and then we could try and find out WHY their fish are growing faster. ( food , warmer , massaged daily , steroids? ).

Skygazer, I'd suggest removing the values from Jaymie and LKB. Being estimates only, they only skew the results from the actual recorded values. They both sit well above your best fit curve, indicating that they are overly optimistic.

Nice work!

jaymie , just so we get an idea of growth rates ,, how big when you got the fingerlings and how long did it take to become that fine dinner?

the silvers were about 5cm long when we got them on 19th January 2007.
The silvers have a slower growth rate than the jades.

That's pretty a pretty impressive growtrh rate. I assume the system is un-heated in winter? ( I went to your system thread to find out but 112 pages:( ).
Do you play beethoven for them? Daily Thai massages?

Impressive.

yep, the system is too big to heat economically, the water got down to about 10oC last winter.

They get played the sounds of running water.

Are you human?: I'm a metal machine!
Location: Wageningen, the Netherlands
W=BMI*(L^3)/100
Where:
W=Weight (g)
BMI=Body mass index
L=Length (cm)

The BMI of Nick and Troutman's Perch is an average of 1,55. The fattest perch has a BMI of 2,3 and the least fat one of 1,1.

Using these you should be able to estimate the weight of a silver perch by it's length and how fat it looks. :)
