Hi team.

Growth rates & data look great for Silver's.

However what stocking densities are we talking here, how much are they varying amongst the different systems?

The growth data is heavily related to densities and system dynamics.

Cheers

Did a bit of a harvest today, culled 20 large ones from my original lot of SP (well I thought so until I noticed 2 large ones still in the tank)

water volume in the fish tank = 1,800 litres
stocking density = 110 silver perch (see - I put in the relevant info :bigsmurf: )
weight...length (of fish)
746...340mm
591...320
496...320
461...300
466...300
481...320
395...280
421...290
438...300
400...280
419...280

the rest were 350gms+

These SP have been off the feed over winter and really haven't started back into the feed as yet so think there would have been a big weight improvement with another couple of months (needed the room for the next lot of SP fingerlings  )

Would be nice to have a second graph of weight vs growout time....

Anyone have data that could be compiled...

i.e .... when stocked, weight at harvest date....etc...

I'd be interested in comparing it to pond based growth rates over a similar period of time...

I suspect that it would at least be very comparable... possibly even a little better...

Perhaps everyone could keep data for this season and post accordingly....

Thanks Rope

Really needs to be a mature system unaffected by HSM  and where the feed can be kept up to them at all times during the summer months to be a fair comparison to pond fish...so how advanced did you say your system was :geek:

Even allowing for such things Elk... AP results still seem very comparable...

Would be nice to have "empirical" data though...

And yep :geek:... when my fish go into the system... I will record everything I can.... :D
