Please advise what is the deficiency when lettuce looking pale and old leaves getting dry. Planted in a raft system.

Might be nitrogen but if that's lacking then you'll usually get other deficiencies as well. If you have a test kit check for nitrates. Actually having nitrates when you test will indicate that it's probably not the problem - if you don't have nitrates it doesn't really tell you anything because the plants might just be taking them up right away. If it's nitrogen then either it's a lack of feed input or you're filtering too much out or you're losing nitrogen to the atmosphere because you've got some pockets with low oxygen. Lack of enough feed input is usually the cause. It's also possible that it's a Magnesium deficiency. |
