"2nd rate country" and "global super power" are 2 very different things.... If 2nd rate is what we are, its what I want my country to be....if global super power os what you guys have, I think ill pass on that one...however, to buy into the pissing comp for a second, we regularly score high on (as you mentioned) the global peace index, and many of our capital cites are regarded as the most livable in the world....

But please, keep posting, I look forward to it, its highly entertaining.

Anybody ever heard about an aquaponics system inside an earthship built home or greenhouse?

With bio-gas or bio-diesel fuel for heating and pumping.

I am currently planning the building of my own house. It wont be an earthship, but hopefully rammed earth (pending soil tests and council approval).

I am also considering building a 'shed' out of rammed earth to help with controlling the temperature in the fish tanks but don't think this will be a good idea as the grow beds will still act as heat sinks and heat the water anyway.

ahem, but yes, earthships are way cool...you guys should also check out earth bag construction....

As for for off grid power, im really interesting in converting biomass into power - i.e. gasification. here in the tropic we can grow alot of bamboo fast, and then put it through a chipper. then through a gasifier...
