Also you do need to register as a beekeeper with the ag dept and they will give you a brand id to put on your hives. Some local shires also want to rape you for having hives and want an extra licence fee payed to them but hey, I pay enough rates already :wave1:

That all depends on how much time you spend with your hives and what breed of bees you have...

I DO as i dont like getting STUNG hahahaha but i also have worked with guys that do it in shorts and singlet... BUT I ride a motorbike with Jacket and good demin jeans too .... As I alsways reckon MURPHY is just around the corner....

IF you had an Australian native bee hive (very hard to keep) then these have no stingers.. and they work ALL THROUGH the day even in summer whereas the European like to have siesta's as they cant handle the heat or cold as good

I have a full suit, gloves and smoker but no extractor, I just crush and strain my honey or keep it as comb.

Ebay is your friend for buying smokers, gloves and suits.
