A few weeks ago we carried out a site consultation. We make sure that there is suitable access to get the components in to the backyard, check aspect for sun and any potential issues such as large trees and falling leaves, nuts and flowers and provide a site plan showing the customer how the system will fit in to their allocated area. This photo shows shade against the house during winter but improves as the day goes on and as the warmer season approaches.

The beds are then designed away from the house to allow maximum sunlight and leafy plants such as silverbeet and lettuces will be grown closer to the house in the winter months.

This is the site before the system is installed, lawn removed and area reasonably level. Sand base is ideal for the fish tank and generally pavers are installed underneat the growbed legs to stop them sinking in to soft sand. Mulch is then generally applied around the base to tidy up and make a neat finish.
