Can't agree...I guess it's a question of taste (and what else is on offer). Even when bled instantly and put on ice they're only good for fish n chips for the kids. Sashimi?? My japanese wife thinks they're pretty horrible.

Geez that video makes me so Jealous. I went fishing down the coorong to a beach called 42 mile crossing yesterday with a couple of other AP enthusiasts, notably VB made the trek from the Sunshine state. We had one day of sunshine yesterday, but the wind was howling onshore which made it hard to get it into the gutters. The 2 casts which actually made it to where we wanted them resulted in a nice lttle salmon and a beautiful Molloway. Unfortunately the mulloway needed to be sent back as it was under the 70 cm limit.
I don't know how anyone could catch more than a few of thos salmon in a session, after fighting this one, my back was completely stuffed. I needed a beer and a sit down for half an hour to recover :headbang:
We are heading back down weather permitting this weekend and camping there, with a bit of luck we might get on to a few more. I think the salmon make good eating but I am not fussy. I cut all the bloodlines out of the fillets and skin them, then crumb and fry.

They are a fairly common catch of the beach in esperance. I agree they need to be bled then eaten that day for best results.
