You really want to piss these guys off - buy the ebooks and if they really are regurgitated crap, put them up on bittorent (or give them to me and I will do it)
When they are easily downloaded through torrent and IRC (does anyone still use IRC now?) then they will have less victims and more people interested in Aquaponics :)

When I was first learning AP, I turned to bittorrent to download manuals, etc and, as a matter of fact, I have the BackYardLiberty package. My review - it is a bunch of copy/paste filler crap using copyrighted images, They do a reasonable job of showing you how to build a system out of two 40 gallon drums and a few 2x's but the majority of the ebook is filler information about what AP is and types of fish, etc.

I learned the most by watching a video titled "Aquaponics Made Easy" which I think I got off Youtube or possibly bittorrent and was an Australian fella talking about the systems he sells. If I lived near him, I would definitely buy his systems as they appear to be very well built and redundancy is built in. After seeing that video, I came here and read through some forums and then I went to Google Images and searched other's systems for ideas. I got some basic formulas together and it was off to building the concept for mine to which I modified numerous times and settled on a smaller system that I could make with one pond liner.

Seems I may have gotten a bit off topic. C'est la vie...

We are selling a preparedness product made by Alec Deacon survival specialist and Nate Storey Ph. D. in agronomy and crop science.

Well I'm buggered if I know what exactly it is you're selling... when I go to your site it immediately directs me to... http://www.backyardliberty.com/vsl/

Which opens with an anti-Obama rant.... then seems to piggyback on aquaponics... in the same way that the aquaponics4u scumbags do...

Care to explain what this "preparedness product" is.. and exactly what involvement Nate Storey has....

P.S... be warned.... I communicate with Nate regularly... and I will be doing so with regards to this... and any further claims you might make that link his name to anything you promote...

So... ante up friend..... coz I reckon you've probably just used Nate's video/work... to paddle your own canoe... probably without his knowledge... or endorsement....

HERE COMES THE BOOM!!

6 days later

yep id say you nailed him. I looked ta the site, and its designed to not let you leave, when i try closing the page i get pop ups, true sign of a douche designer, ill never look again just for that! :upset:

Our product is sold through a video sales letter and not a website. That's why our landing page goes to the backyardliberty vsl.

If you wait until the end of the video you'll see our product, aquaponics images and Nate Storey as well.
We certainly work with Nate Storey, and here's the proof on camera. When you get the DIY video for aquaponics, this is the way it starts:

Link doesn''t work.... and downloading a video... and reposting it.. doesn't mean you work with Nate at all.... just means that you're using a video of him....

Think I'll email him...

If you replace the DOT in the link with a . then it seems to work. Nate does seem to mention Backyard Liberty, but there is little context shown in the video.

In my opinion, with respect to the sales approach, using fear to make money, is ethically questionable and unnecessary if you have a good product.

Well I'd be surprised if Nate would associate himself (knowingly)... with such a product... or sales approach...

Well folks...

we posted a video of Nate who is on camera and says himself that the program is made by him for backyardliberty DOT COM. I'm making another attempt at posting the link so you can see for yourselves, just copy and paste it in your browser:

backyardlibertydotcom/vsl/video/Nate%20Storey.mp4

Site admin disabled the link on purpose so you can't see the proof.

As a result we are not going to answer any more of your posts here as we consider that this forum is the wrong place for this.

By all means please ask questions at infoatbackyardliberty.com, we answer 100% of our emails.

If you are a customer we will also answer building & maintenance questions and if necessary Nate himself will answer to more specific questions and problems that surpass our expertise.

Well perhaps you could actually post some examples of your "expertise".... show us some of the systems you have built... describe when you built them... how they work.... and post some photos of the results...

Then.. then you might gain some credibility...

Until then... the best that could perhaps be said... is that you're a marketing agency for Nate... which doesn't imply any aquaponics expertise in itself at all.... just a bit of marketing nous...

And frankly... looking at your site.... I don't think you rate more than high school marketing 101... with a side dish of internet template techniques 101...

Except perhaps to the tin foil hat wearing extreme nutcase preppers.... (who aren't necessarily all like that)...

If I was Nate... I would have been totally ashamed of what you produced on his behalf... or at least the way you were marketing it...

And would have politely paid you for your efforts... taken ownership of the product... and burnt it to warm the greenhouse for the fish...
