Just for the sake of creating more statistics in the world :funny1: .

It occurred to me earlier this evening whilst wacking Cane Toads in the back yard, that I had no idea how many Ive wacked during my 40+ years of toad wacking. In fact I dont even know how many I wacked last week. :dontknow:
Last night :dontknow:

I thought of a perfectly stupid idea and there fore one to be impliemented ASAP, to start collecting some basic data on the subject.

05/03/13
Totals
2 large
2 medium
1 small

Method of dispatch; 1200mm lenth of 25mm poly pipe (blue stripe) applied librally to toad.

Feel free to share your data on the subject, lets call it research. or an enviromental impact intervention.

Now just a note for the greenies, doo gooders and wowsers out there.
Cane Toads are an introduced pest into this country.
They have spread like wild fire over thousands of kilometres
They Kill a wide range of native wildlife
They are seemingly unstopable, and yet there does not appear to be an official national focus on there irradication.

This could be it :thumbright:

No cane toads here but every time I visit the east side I like to indulge in a little toad wacking. Tool of choice... cricket bat.

:D

Then find a useful end product and turn the 'wacking' into something useful. :)

Or talk to a Kiwi; possum fur socks are really good.

I guess I was pre empting a response from someone sypathetic to the plight of the Toads , Most likely some one from a far off land where toads occur natually and are kept in check by some form of predator.

Freddy: I'm uttered and disgusted by your misinterpreatiton of invasive pest and the cynic thread about trying to eradicate them, solution are not sometimes the mosty obvious, surely some areas have seen a decrease in mozzys population, scientist have noted that prey and predator chain they reach a peak and then crash, of course that in the natural ecosystem.
Now add HUMAN to your statisc!
We are by far the only species that has destroyed and exployted all natural resources and ecosystem on this living planet, we are invasive and we are a nuisance.( we do not deserve to be called SAPIENS)
Out of your natural abithat you might get crashed just like the toad (australian obo's surfers becoming shark meal) and the worst of all we even feel we are victims!

+1 for the great white for keeping aussie waters free from pest and parassite!!!

Toad after all are the only victim, if the brit's never went there we would have not have to deal with this, they are just a consequence!

Is Blind your surname or a disability you have? or both?

Sorry... Bioaqua.... but the toad is a completely useless creature... that serves no worthwhile purpose... is extremely harmful to everything else in the ecosystem it inhabits... and has proven to be virtuaqlly unstoppable in it's spread...

It was thought that the toad wouldn't spread beyond certain environmental/climatic zones... but it seems to have developed a range of environmental and climatic tolerances.. that just sees it marching forever onward...

Poor toad... poor toad be buggered...

Are you human?: occasionally
Location: Qld.
I used to wack them a fair bit but they are pretty good termite, bug and snake control.
Downside is they do kill mainly the frog eating snakes which includes red belly blacks, that keep down the browns.
People do see dead browns with toads in their mouth though
I do miss my big goannas too they get to a certain size and then eat one and their gone.
Have a baby goanna up here at the moment he will probably be dead in a few months
Seen a kookie wack the puss out of one and eat it and survive.
Seen another eat one and never saw that kookie again.

It getting even more interesting, now.... we humans(not su usefull either).... can define what is useless in nature! OMG
About harmfull....I can only think of one species! HUMANs

Humans (Homo sapiens) are characterized by having a large brain relative to body size, with a particularly well developed, making them capable of abstract reasoning, language, introspection, problem solving and culture through social learning. (much in contraddiction regards your behave)

"It was thought that the toad wouldn't spread beyond certain environmental/climatic zones... but it seems to have developed a range of environmental and climatic tolerances.. that just sees it marching forever onward"

You are describing roughly our history on this planet and behyond, with the only difference that to adapt to some environment we have alter the least!
