Ron, checked it out on iTunes but reviews were pretty negative. Seems not to work, that app. How is your experience with it? Do you have any idea if it also works outside of the USA? Thanks in advance.

The negativity stems from people not wanting to create an account. If you notice people were pretty polarized with the number of stars. There were by far more 5 stars than 1 star ratings. Personally I think that a little tracking on an app like this might be a good thing. Companies that are receptive to consumer preferences might see it and change their ways. I never eat there but McDonalds has made many changes based on things that people protested about. For instance they stopped sourcing their beef from Central America when it became apparent that raising cattle in a rainforest was severely detrimental to the rainforest. Also, they dropped GMO potatoes for their fries ( then again who knows if they really have continued to not use them...) They still cause major issues with monoculture and such, but they do adapt. Of course the easiest way to boycott Monsanto is to buy organic. I found the app useful for stuff other than food too. I was ruinous as to what kind of evil ZipLock bags paid for. Apparently none! They are not owned by a huge mega conglomerate, they use as much recycled material as they can to maintain quality. My cupboards are guilt free.
