ok so 12 hours later we added 6 lbs of pea gravel to 4 beds and brought them up higher, i love this stuff but man its heavy! now, 12 hours after that, being 24 hours after last reading i took a new reading. water is nice n clear now, and plants have perked up and still pumping nonstop.

The salt will help with the nitrite and eventually the system will build up the right bacteria at the right level to reduce it.

I would be more concerned at the moment with the ammonia. It doesn't seem to want to come down. Are you sure there isn't a dead fish somewhere or a build up of food?

from 4.0 to 1.0 in a week, id say its coming down :dontknow: how much should i salt?
