I bet nobody can watch this all the way through, without choking up and turning away in disgust..

Very hard to watch, but essential viewing. I was going to write some heavy duty warning here about it, but really, I think everyone should watch it, and everyone should be repulsed because we are all partially responsible in one way or another...

Man, I'm only half way through and struggling....

Thanks for that, Joel. I know what is coming, but going to look at it all the way. So I won't forget why I answered the way I did on the question "are you human?".

Well said Dom...
Times like this I'm glad my connection and rubbish bandwidth makes it pointless for me to attempt watching more than a couple of minutes of the vid.

There is no other species on this planet that can display such cruelty, sadism, indifference to suffering, ignorance and ...the list is too long.....

It makes you feel deeply ashamed to be part of the human species....

Fortunately we haven't all been painted by the same brush.
People who act as such are not human rather a minority subspecies known as scum of the earth.

Yeah, this may be, but much of what was shown in the doco was about animal treatment on food farms and for leather. This is why people need to be made aware of these things, because inadvertently they are supporting these things by constantly shopping only for the lowest cost goods..

In W.A. there's no legislation about labelling of eggs for "free range", while Europe legislates 2000 hens per hectare, and many states in the east have 1500/hectare here in W.A.

Quote:
"There are several large farms in Perth that are surpassing the current standards. (They have) far exceeded 20,000 hens per hectare... and retailers and accrediting agents are knowingly accrediting these eggs as free range."

These things need to be put out in the open for all to see, but it wont change many peoples habits, sadly. You will never see the above clip on mainstream media, and I wonder why

I found that really hard to watch, really hits home the cruelty out there. We have obviously came a long way as a race but we have so much further to go. I wonder if we will ever get there?

I've watched quite a few stories on animal abuse/cruelty, Lyn White of Animals Australia has exposed heaps of abuses and especially within the live exporting trade here in Australia, the government doesn't want to interfere with such a lucrative trade so they use spin doctors to make it appear that they give a shit, just long enough until another more interesting story comes along. I used to eat meat but I can't anymore after what I have seen, I don't want to be part of the slaughter.

For me it was off and on vegetarian, and after seeing from "farm to fridge" I really cut down to once a week meat, rest veggies. But after seeing this, I'm done with it. I'll eat my own fish or chickens when its time for them, but never again anything from outside. What a criminal shite mass food production is.

If you see stuff like this, indeed we came a long way, from relative harmless to specialists in mass destruction. Is there anything we've ever invented that is not somehow used to destroy the world around us? Disgusting species. Any alien who would see us busy here probably got so scared they didn't even want to land here. I guess we are not alone in the universe, but just isolated because of this kind of behavior. Your not making friends like this with extra terrestrials. :upset:

Trying to get through the rest now…….

That was sickening, Unfortunately many people are not taught how to care for and treat animals humanly.

The footage shown was I hope the worst of the worst, sad to think that those who do treat animals humanly will be branded with the same brush.

Truth is production and quality of produce is better with humane treatment.

now I am going to feel bad squashing caterpillars eating my broccoli. :(

the video was very disturbing and makes me really concerned about the food that I am eating.

When I was a kid growing up my uncle had a dairy farm that we used to spend the summers on (small operation not a corporate farm type) and I can say that back then they truly cared about the welfare of the animals and were not cruel to them. Every cow had a name and they were treated the same as he treated his pets , no electric prods or cruelty that I can remember.

After watching that video I am really going to watch what I eat more closely!
