Are you human?: Only after 3 coffees
Location: Happy Valley, Adelaide, SA,Australia.
We left Adelaide on the Friday evening and went and stayed with friends in the Adelaide hills until Sunday. From there we traveled to the Langhorne Creek wine area and then down the coast and across to the Coonawarra wine region for the night.

The next day was a slow drive to Bendigo in Victoria for a night of wine and talking of old times in Darwin and close friends. Then we drove to Sale and onwards to Lake Entrance for the next night. Very nice motel with king size bed and spa bath for less then I paid on the trip down. Well worth the money.

Next day we decided to push on as money was the problem, not enough of it. Mainly wanted to look at the country and the towns so we could plan a future trip with a van. The country side did not disappoint us and well worth a slower trip in the future. Pushed on up the coast road in to NSW and up to Wollongong. Went through Sydney which surprisingly was an easy trip for early evening time. Stayed the night at Heatherbray just over the Hunter River north of Newcastle.

Next day we continued up the coast to Grafton, the old highway way was way to slow so we went inland a bit to Casino and on to Lismore. From Lismore it was a easy twenty minute drive to charlies new place.

To be continued have a few things to do cheers.

Thanks charlie for the very warm welcome and the hospitality of your family for the night. It was great to meet you, Nicole and young Lucas. You have a open canvas for your new system but also some hard yakka in front of you.

It is beautiful country around that way and we have always said if we did not return to the NT and we were to move it would be to the norther region of NSW. The drive to the coast was worth doing on the back road even if half of it was at 60 klm hour. No other traffic and very peaceful.

Our invitation stands if you are coming this way and it would only be a 2 hour drive for you home after you pick up fingerlings from SEQ Fish.

We left charlies by 8:30am and headed home to beat all the Anzac weekend traffic. Glad we did as by the time we had reached the Bruce Highway the traffic was getting quite heavy heading north.

We did a total of 5,880 klm travelled and saw some beautiful country in which we are proud to live in.

Wish every one the best for the ANZAC weekend and if you are travelling take care. Lest We Forget.

Are you located in Adelaide Charlie? I've been looking for a yabby source. A mate from stirling told me the other day he has a dam that apparently has yabbies so I'm headed out there this weekend. Fingers crossed!

Most lumps of water have yabbies in them in SA, so if you dont find them at your friends location, just try almost anywhere else. Even the Torrens River in the center of Adelaide has yabbies.

Really the Torrens has them? Never even thought of that.

Also the ponds along south terrace.

As a kid we would catch them by dredging with a bucket tied to rope.

You scoop rancid, anaerobic mud from the bottom, and dump it onto the path around the ponds and pick out the yabbies

Citizens didn't like me when I was a kid.

Sorry Universe, I've been trying to make up for it ever since :)

I wouldn't eat anything from the Torrens or those ponds, but it's probably a place to find breeding stock. Yabbies walk from place to place on damp nights and can live out of water for ages, so almost all water has them. If you build a dam on a farm, you get yabbies.
