Trying to win myself a new ride on mower at the moment and got me thinking, Ive never won anything in my life. Not even a stinking scratchy.

What about you fine people? What have you won in your life?

I won a thousand bucks for being the first ring in on a radio station . I had to be the first person to ring in when the Monkeys song Daydream Believer came on. That was about 20 years ago. Nothing since.

I won a colouring-in comp in the Sat' West or Sunday Times (can't remember which) when I was about 8 or 9 and won a huge toy truck, a semi car carrier about 3ft long... nothing much since, except for a $2 scratchy or three over the years... saving up all my luck for those all important six numbers!

I won a pair of Steel Blue workboots out of the Countryman newspaper years ago , when they first started up. Expensive prize ...haven't worn anything else since. :thumbleft:
Then the year before last took out one of the gate prize pack at the Perth Caravan & Camping Show ...ARB fridge/freezer and few other cool things... think I have used up my winning luck for now

Got to be in it to win it

Cheers

A miniature Windmill made of metal in a gas station drawing, a leather duffel bag as a tennis tournament prize, and 5 bucks in a bet :thumbright: . Nothing much in the last 35 years though :dontknow:

I got a packet of textas and a 'where's wally' video from colour ins in the west australian some 25 years ago.

Best prize was for drinking Emu Bitter at the white sands tavern about 10 years ago- won a week for 4 people in Margaret river for the Masters (surfing comp), including accommodation in a big flash house, meals cooked by chefs, rock climbing and surfing excursions, chauffeur, VIP to all events, Dinner with the 24 'EB six pack girls' (oh yes), judging of the subsequent bikini comp and all the Swan breweries product we could drink.

I've won a few T shirts and DVDs from radio dial-in or show-up-where-they-are-broadcasting things.

I also consider it "winning" the stuff I get for free off of CraigsList.

Stuff for my AP setup - Barrels, pipe, pumps, scoria, wood for GBs, stepping stones for around GB, metal for plant lattice support, concrete deck footings...

A ton of stuff for my timber frame cabin build that will be starting this year. Propane cook range, dual pane windows, sinks, DWV fittings for sewer, bunk beds, drain pipe for foundation, cases of nails for nail gun, new fiberglass insulation, electric lawn mower, 4k generator...

The only thing worth mentioning was when I was 15 or so, I won 20x rolls of B&W film that used colour processing instead of B&W processing via a photography magazine.

Other than that...a free chocolate bar...lol.

What's wrong with your old Greenfield, built like a brick shithouse and its Aussie made?

Ticket drawn second in the office raffle; the week we didn't have a second prize

Won a case before the AAT for a mate, he got a big payout and was a bit grateful. That's where my Cox rideon came from and a couple of other things. :)

I recently won $2000 in a fishing competition. Funny thing was I found out the result a couple of days after I lost all those trout. Looks like there really is a God.

Good luck winning the mower Charlie, just believe it's yours and picture yourself mowing your lawn :)

I have had a bit of luck over the years and won a few comps. You know what they say you gotta be in it to win it.
2007 Gardener of the Year Golden shovel, spade and a years supply of Seasol.
2008 Cockburn sustainability Award for our garden $1000
2014 Outdoor Setting from House and Garden Magazine worth over $1000 (should be here any day now) plus tickets to the Melbourne Flower Show

For BYAP -
2009 small Business Award Cockburn council $1000 and a trophy
2012 Fremantle Business Awards trophy
2014 State Finalists Telstra Business Awards Trophy

Oops nearly forgot I won a trip to New Zealand, somewhere in the middle for writing a tale about success I had using a Yates product. We visited loads of gardens around Auckland. A wonderful few days with Judy Horton as my tour guide, I was very spoilt.
I have been very lucky I must say.
