Both articles cited imply that Kales issue is uptake of chemicals/metals,
and particularly sensitive in agricultural scale sources.

So +1 for AP would be that it is likely to be less susceptible in comparison - give or take variability in either water source and/or construction materials used in the AP system.

the interesting quotes are...
(a) Love your kale, but maybe don't eat too much of it.
(b) Keep your iodine levels up and cook your kale - heating it up dramatically decreases the goitrogenic qualities.

guess it all still comes down to having a balanced diet and mixing it up a bit.

one wonders how this also goes with the 'trend' of using all the veg (eg. celery and cauliflower leaves etc) rather than just the usually eaten parts and composting/disposing the rest. See it made a mention on the wifes' favourite Materchef recently where they had to use the whole of the veg.

If the kale or other veg has been grown with fertiliser such as superphosphate (Cd in particular is high in it), I can understand the heavy metal accumulation, it's happening across fertilised paddocks everywhere. You'd like to think that in AP, as mentioned above, we may be protected somewhat from that.
However, fish from the ocean certainly bioaccumulate heavy metals and toxins from the plastic that is everywhere in the ocean, and that fish is in the pellets we feed our fish, so I wouldn't be too confident AP grown food is any safer.

Saw the program on sugar.
It touched on the smoothies and says that the issue with the smoothies is that if you eat an orange for argument sake you can eat 1 maybe 2 oranges
If you process them into a smoothie you can consume 4-5 oranges.
This causes problems as the liver digests the sugars in the fruit and when the liver gets a huge intake of these sugars is converts them to fat
I would assume that this is the affect that the kale is having for this same huge volume reason
