Thanks for the link, Ron.

Heka... The copper wasn;t going to come in contact with the beer. It was to be wrapped around the fermentation barrel. I didn't do with copper in the end because it is expensive and hard to bend in the size I needed.

I used a very thin vinyl tubing. Wrapped it around and then cling wrapped the shit out of it to hold it in place. I have the pump ready to go. Just need to build a polystyrene box to enclose the hole thing.

This might be interesting for a few various types of mead....

I used to make a clove flavoured mead. Lovely with hot roast chicken and crusty bread.

For about 6 dollars here you can get a 10' length of hard copper... The best way to bend it is to solder a cap on the end, fill it with playsand, and slowly wrap it around something (such as the fermentation tank) and when its all done, cut off the cap, pour the sand out, wash to make sure its gone, then solder on fittings you would like. I haven't done this in a while, but its the way that we make fittings to distill uhmm.. water n stuff.. yeah :)

I made wine for a bit. I got out of it because I moved and left my equipment to one of my roomates. Now I don't drink that much so I haven't gotten back into it. And wine is reasonably priced now that I'm back in the U.S., but in Canada it was far more cost effective to make my own.

My roomates really liked white zinfendel, but my favourite batch was a crab apple wine. It was nice and crisp with a fruity finish.

I love to make hard apple cider as I enjoy it, especially when shooting pool.

Maybe when I have some other projects taken care of, I'll get back into home brewing.

Wow, I know the price of copper has gone up, but 1/2" copper goes for that... and I think a brass shutoff is about 3$ish... then again, I dont know the exchange rate from USD to AD :P

I made some prohibition root beer. It really tasted like beer too. Others include: wild grape, due berry, and persimmon wine, vodka and now I just brew for my car. 196 proof.

Yeah, thats what most of us use now a days. More work to build, but easier to run once its all set up. Tried it out in the house the very first time... wife about killed me when it started to stink. hhahaha

I like being able to get my proof on the first run.. Mixed with 15% gas my van is ready to go; its a flex fuel van. I found a device that pluginto my cars injector wires and adjust fuel so it can run e85 too!

Nope, all modern cars are made to run 10% eth. Check this out:

Any car can run it without conversion other than injecting more fuel.

We run 85 Ethonol 15 Gas. The gas is for top end lubercation. This that vidoe they run a normal unconverted car then after 100,000 miles it was completely taken apart. No problems mate.
