Well, we are finally starting to pack our bags for Australia!

We leave in 4 days, Tuesday in USA.

I've mothballed my AP setup until we get back. I hope to rebuild it after learning first hand from you folks.

The CFO has all the tickets, reservations and car rentals all nailed down. For personal security reasons we can't discuss too much of our itinerary publicly. I still would like to visit some AP folks when we can. We'll have GPS available to find people and places.

If people are so inclined to a visit please PM me as soon as possible. We can discuss detailed timelines then. We'll need your need addresses and phone numbers.

Thank you for all your suggestions and hospitality!

See you soon!

Have you've been keeping an eye on the weather down in the south east of Australia.... Hope it passes soon for you.

I just left Cairns perhaps a week ago, it's starting to warm up a bit there but I'd highly recommend hiring a car and driving up to the Daintree for a day or two, I spent almost 2 weeks in the Daintree, amazing place....

On the way back from Alice to Adelaide, stop in at Kingoonya.

Off the main hwy, but worth visiting if you are looking for something different.

Thanks Joel for the heads up.

We will definately keep that in mind.

We'll be visiting an old high school class mate of Nancy's that lives in CAIRN. We also booked some snorkeling off of Green Island.

Would love to squeeze in your suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion Bryan. We'll look into it. We are very interested and curious about the Aboriginal culture.

Our long time friend Marc (lives in Adelaide) has been hired by your government to consult with one of the Aboriginal groups. Seems like they are in some serious financial trouble with the management of their large cattle station.

Read up your Wiki situation. I've heard of some stuff against Aboriginal people but never realized how bad it was until we started researching for our trip to your country.

Why do white people around the globe do that to their country's first peoples? In all honesty, I wasn't there so I can't say what I would have done or not. The old walk in my shoes sort of thing I guess. We have our own bad reputation with Native Americans in the US. Not much has changed over time except for the out right killing. We are still violating treaties, especially when someone wants to put in a pipeline thru Indian Land and their Sacred Places or taking water for large cities.

Some previous suggestions from....JOC:

AP systems - check out IcemanDude (Craig) at Western Aquaponics at Melton just out of Melbourne to the west. Food&fish (Milne) in Sunbury to the NW of Melbourne. Jayendra (Jay) in Warragul an hour east of Melbourne in Gippsland, including the Baw Baw community garden and Yarragon Sustainability hub. I am a hour or so further east in Gippsland. Check out Rendang in Sydney and Colum in Adelaide.

Well we finally jumped across the pond and are staying with our friends Marc and Bonnie. Their house over looks Adelaide. Some view for sure. Today is just to take things easy to get over jet lag. In a couple of days Mark and Bonnie will drive us to Melbourne. We will also visit with their friend and Yabby farmer Trevor. Still wouldwould like to visit AP along our itinerary. You can email or PM us here on the forum. I don't know if I'll be able to drive on the wrong side of these roads !!

I can't thank you enough for making time so we can visit.. We will getting home in a couple of days. Then I'll up load some pictures. After seeing your system I'm getting a good idea of what I want to do when I get home. The CFO doesn't like to eat fish so I maybe I'll look at some ornamental fish and focus on vegetables? Anyway I'll plenty of plane time to formalize my plan. Thanks again MATE!
