You still can get the stuff [Ammonium Perchlorate] here is USA. Check this out:

If you know how to make your black powder, you can add couple of other things (retardents) to it to make some decent push power. Very easy to make black powder.

I went to BTOW.
They are cheaper than most the online shops?!
In fact they are the only shop I have ever gone to whose online price is higher than the shop price.
Cost me $1495. For an NEQ6PRO
Will be returning to buy the Black Diamond (Orion) ED80 most probably.
And will be getting the Orion Autoguider hopefully.

And then my goal will be the Takahasi 120mm or 130mm scope.
That will probably be followed with a divorce

Seem to remember a couple of reviews saying the ED80 has collimation issues... nothing insurmountable.. but a PITA....

Yeah, but easily fixed, then once fixed once all is good :)
And BROW (if you buy on a Thursday night) let you set up and play before buying, so a star test well tell me all

First attempt using a stock 200mm camera lens.
Still havent decided on the scope
The vignetting is pretty bad, and the polar alignment was probably worse.
But it was my first ever attempt, and the light pollution is so bad where I live that where the SCP alignment stars should be there is just black sky :( (Thanks Alcoa, 50km away and you still ruin my views)

So, 83 seconds on Orion.
You can see the Great Nebula in Orion plus the faint outline of the Flame Nebula below Alnitak

Wow that's awesome Werdna! They were just talking about astronomy on the radio tonight and mentioned that Orion is currently visible :thumbright:

So cool that we are seeing a digital representation of photons that travelled for 1,344 years before hitting the sensor on your camera.

We are really close to Jupiter right now too, if you look outside at 8:30 in the north east it's the really bright star!

Sorry :)
The great nebula in Orion is the gas/dust cloud middle right.
The the bright stars in a line are Orion's belt, the one lower centre is Alnitak.
Below that is another gas/dust cloud called the flame nebula.
In that same region is another cloud called the horsehead nebula, which is my goal first real astro photo :)

Ever looked in the sky and seen the star formation that looks like a cook pot in the sky?
The base of the pot is the 3 bright stars, known as Orion's belt, the 3 stars that make the handle are Orion's sword, the middle star is the great nebula you can see to the right.

Make more sense now?

Might try to get Jupiter tonight depending on wind and clouds

Thanks!
I was actually looking for Orion't belt in your pic but couldn't find it. I should have taken a step back from the computer ;)

I have always called the "pot" "the big dipper" is that incorrect ?

Nebulae are awesome :)
