Little Creature , which recently bought White Rabbit swallowed up by a multi-national
Joining Malt Shovel (james squire) and many other Aussie favorites at Lion Nathan owned by kirren group japan. Christ, we can't even brew our own beer anymore...
Some of the locals brewhouses ( Occy's & Colonial ) down this way are now selling by refillable growlers, might just have to check them out...or Coopers

Yep it's a sad state of affairs when its a struggle to buy an Aussie beer. I love the local brewers like occies, bootleg etc. I make all my own beer now though, coopers all the way.

About to crack open a Coppers Sparkling right now and settle in for some AP browsing. :D

Mind you, the Seth Efricans bought CUB and now VB on tap is drinkable again - the rep said the new CEO said, 'We are not a beer factory, we BREW beer' and they went back to brewing it properly instead of shovelling in chemicals to make it 'brew' in 24 hours. Not bad if you're at the pub.

phssst... aaaah!

I used to drink VB many moons ago before it went to crap. I wonder how long it will be till you can buy one of the improved beers from the bottle-o?

And it's back to the old strength - 4.9 I think. Should be able to get them now Charlie - they've been around for a couple of months.

I have drank them all, but these days I do enjoy Tooheys Old. Being a brewed beer without additives you can have a few without the after effects. It is a heavy. If I have a xxxx Gold or a Midstrength seems to knock me around more.

go to a site called ratebeer.com not many ausy beers get a very good review. I like german beers personally as the majority comply with the german purity law. They cant put anything other than hops water malt and yeast. In aus they can stick anything they like in a bottle and call it beer. I used to drink fourex lager as a loyal queenslander for twenty years or so. When cartons hit $45 i had to re-evaluate. How come i can buy a carton of German Oettinger from DM's for $29, it has come on a container ship halfway around the world then trucked 750 ks to Rockhampton. I refused to support the local product if they are going to rip me off. bought a bottle of Chimay the other day a beer made by trappist monks and rated @ 100 out of 100 it was very tasty but at $16.80 for a 750ml tallie i wont be imbibing every day. My darling often brings home a carton of pilsener Urquell as a treat. It is a checlovacian beer and the first original pilsener. I have turned a lot of people onto it. Now one of our local pub sells it woot!!!!. My other alltime favourite is Guinness in a frozen glass siting on the back deck watching the sun set.
