Go to any of your marine shops that sell to fishermen or yachties, they will have a selection of 12v pumps to choose from.

True... but most 12v bilge pumps aren't designed for continuous use....

And almost everyone that has used them has found they only last a month or two...

If you have it just as a backup (and probably testing it every once in a while) it should be fine, just not running 24/7/365.

My 12 volt pump is going on 5 months running continous and it is doing fine. Now it is not a cheap bilge pump, it is rated fro continous use.

Sure do, not sure how long the motor will last , but the pump itself is very well built and will last a long time. Been running non stop since the day I got it and it pumps a lot of water.

Not your run of the mill 12v bilge pump, be interesting to see how long it does last. What head are you pumping at?

Head is about 7 to 8 feet. Getting about 400 gallons per hour at that height. Only thing I don't like about it, is that it is not self priming. So if it is shut down it takes a little to get it primed. Usually just opening the dump valve and putting my finger over the end. And using my finger to build pressure and let air out.

Just looked up the date I got it in and it has been running about 4 months. i thought it was 5 months, but I was wrong. I seems very well built.

I just wish it had a brushless motor instead of brushed. When this motor fails I will be hooking the pump up to a brushless motor.
